Earthjustice wields the power of law and the strength of partnership to protect people’s health, preserve magnificent places and wildlife, advance clean energy, and combat climate change. We are here because the Earth needs a good lawyer.

Earthjustice Action is a separate 501(c)(4) social welfare organization focused on defending and strengthening bedrock environmental laws and ensuring they remain intact and enforceable. Founded in 2017, Earthjustice Action unleashes the power of the people and ensures that elected officials listen to those who matter most: their constituents.
The Senior Compliance Analyst will serve as a dedicated compliance resource within the General Counsel’s Office, responsible for building and managing a centralized system for tracking, coordinating, and supporting key regulatory compliance obligations for Earthjustice (501(c)(3)), Earthjustice Action (501(c)(4)), and Earthjustice Action’s associated political committees. The role will help reduce legal, financial, and reputational risk by creating and managing systems for high-risk filing, registration, reporting, recordkeeping, and deadline-management obligations that are currently distributed across multiple departments.
This role will initially focus on the entities’ highest-risk and most time-sensitive compliance areas, including federal and state campaign finance compliance, Earthjustice Action’s electoral and political action committee compliance, federal and state lobbying compliance, and multi-state employer compliance. The Senior Compliance Analyst will work closely with the Office of General Counsel, Policy and Legislation, Finance, Human Resources, and other internal stakeholders to gather needed information, monitor filing triggers and deadlines, administer and coordinate accurate and timely submissions, and improve cross-functional coordination. The Senior Compliance Analyst will prepare filings directly and play a critical role in performing preliminary reviews and managing reviews of vendor-prepared filings. The Senior Compliance Analyst will also work closely with the Office of General Counsel to support legal interpretation issues and to obtain legal advice to assist with compliance tasks.
This is a non-supervisory position. The Senior Compliance Analyst is expected to work a full-time (37.5 hours/week) schedule and will work hybrid from either the Washington, D.C. or San Francisco, CA office.
